Dr. Fong is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in sports medicine specializing in the care of complex shoulder and knee problems.
He was born in Shreveport Louisiana, the son of a physician from Hawaii and the nurse from Nebraska, After moving to Hawaii at the age of two, he earned a bachelor’s of arts at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and his medical degree from the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine. His training continued at the University of Hawaii Integrated Surgical Residency Program and the University of Hawaii Integrated Orthopedic Residency Program which included rotations through Tripler Army Medical Center, Rancho Los Amigos in California and Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children in Missouri. He came to Louisiana for a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Tulane University and was asked to stay on as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery. He was full time faculty for 2 years and has since remained a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at the Tulane University School of Medicine. He has lived and practiced in Slidell since 1995.
